It seems like it has been 10 years since the 07-08 hockey season ended. I am desperate for some hockey and more importantly Hurricane Hockey. It seems like I still have a long wait ahead of me.
A lot of questions about next season are running through my head.
1.) Will the officiating suck as bad this season as it did last? Will it be worse? It seems like it gets worse every year with every team getting screwed on multiple occasions.
2.) Over the summer did Sean Avery grow some balls so that he doesn't actually run away from a fight after he picks it.
3.) Are Buffalo fans still the winey and angry bunch we all know and hate? Actually, that is quite stupid for me to even ask. We all know that they will never change.
4.) Will the Florida Panthers still cry diving when they lose a game to the Canes?
5.) Will Detroit finally have a year where they completely suck and miss the playoffs entirely? (I know this won't happen but I can dream.)
Hockey season can not come soon enough for me. I am in serious withdrawal!

Wow, I was angry.
Ok, so it is had been a while since I have posted. I was quite angry the last few times I posted. The Canes not making the playoffs hurt!
I am more rational now.
Well, I knew it would be the Montreal or the Penquins making it to the SCF. I didn't think the Wings would though. I am quite surprised about that. I wonder if Dallas can steal this series away and make it to face the Penquins. I doubt it. They may take Game 6, but I don't think they will win a game 7 on Detroit's home ice. So it looks like we will have a Penquins/Wings final. Wow, who to pull for in that series. That is a tough one. I would of much rather seen a Stars/Flyers series but truly if I got my way the Canes would be there.

Calmed down a little.
Well, I have calmed down a little and let some of my anger go. So I wanted to post on where I stand now.
I still think that the Montreal and San Jose will be going to the Cup finals. San Jose maybe is more of wishful thinking I don't know.
Capitals, Panthers, Sean Avery, Colin Campbell, Campbell's devil spawn, and Chris Pronger still suck just as much today as the did yesterday. I don't see that changing any time soon.
If I was a betting woman I would bet that the refs still suck. I guess we will find out tonight. I actually thought about picking a game to watch where I don't have any personal feelings involved and objectively writing down blowns calls happening to both teams. I am not sure if I will do that or not. Not sure if my carpal tunnel will allow me to do all that writing. If, however, I decide to pop a Vicodin to get through the CP pain I will update you on what happens.

Alot to say
Wow. The NHL regular season is already over. I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday that my family and I were waiting outside starting at 7 a.m. to get tickets to the Canes vs Capitals preseason game. How time flys and boy do I have a lot to say about this past season and the post season ahead.
I will warn you I am still mourning and definately bitter that my team didn't make the playoffs. This post will not be politically correct and the people who are fans of the following teams may be offended: Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers, Rangers, and Ducks. So if you happen to be a fan of any of these teams than you probably won't like what I have to say. Ok now that is taking care of.
Some of you (Canadians) will probably wonder why I am writing this blog on hockey instead of taking me and my 16 kids to a NASCAR race. Well, all I have to say is that I am late with my trailer payment and I am afraid to leave because they might come take that thing off my lot. So I just sit at home and watch hockey.
Lets start with the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
East
I think that the Montreal Canadiens will make it to the Stanley Cup finals. They had the number one power play in the NHL this season and Cary Price has given them great goal tending. Yes, he may not have playoff experience but either did Cam Ward and we know how well that turned out. If anyone is able to beat them I think it would be Pittsburgh but right now my pick is Montreal.
I think the Washington Capitals will go out first round. Although I wouldn't mind seeing them make it past the first round. I would love to see a Rangers/Capitals series. I would love to see Sean Avery drive Ovechkin to the loony bin. When Ovechkin closes his eyes at night I want Sean Avery to be the one he sees. BTW, why I am at it let me say this:
Hey Sean baby, I want you to know you have 100% of my support on the Kristin Davis thing. I understand completely. People should leave you alone on this. If I were an ugly, annoying, coward I would pay for a hooker to get my needs met too. Just wanted to give my support.
West
In the west I think that the Sharks or Ducks have a good chance to make it to the playoffs. I personally would rather see the Sharks make it. CHRIS PRONGER!!?!!? Need I say more? This man gets 8 games for doing the same exact thing that Chris Simon got 30 games for? Are you kidding me? Damn Mr. Colin Campbell you don't try to hide your favoritism do you? Do you hate all Native Americans or just Chris Simon? Or is it that Pronger is a superstar? Tell me Campbell when Pronger (or Ovechkin) kills someone what will they get? 10 games? Yea, that sounds fair. You are a joke, as is your son on the Florida Rejects (oh I mean Panthers).

Come on, are you serious? It is atrocious! Game in game out these people are screwing team after team. I understand that hockey is a very fast sport. I am smart enough to know that calls will be missed and there is nothing that can be done about that. I can tell you what can be done though. Calls do not have to be invented. Calls do not have to be missed when the refs are looking right at the infraction and calls should be CONSISTENT!!!
Anyone want an example? Matt Cooke of the Washington Capitals hit Vincent Lecavalier of the Tampa Bay lighting who did not have the puck. One official was right there. Was it called? Yea right! The strange thing is Cooke was fined after. There should of been a penalty. None was called. Lecavalier shoulder was dislocated and he will require surgery.
Anyways, I realize this post sounds bitter and angry. Well, it is bitter and angry. Let my anger and sadness subside and than maybe I will have something better and nicer to say.
